Why Hire Me?
Why me?
There are many photographers to choose from in this area. Many. We can all sell you a package of albums and 8x10s. Nikon? Canon? We’ve all invested in great equipment, education, learning the ropes. Our prices are all similar.
OK. So why me?
I have a particular way of looking at things, a particular way of seeing things. So do the other photographers. Just not the same way.
So when you are choosing photographers, instead of looking at a checklist or ‘interviewing’ them, you need to look at his/her work. What does it make you feel? Do you find yourself drawn to the images? Do you smile, or laugh? Are you compelled to look more closely, or at the next one? Are you sad when you reach the end?
You are hiring me because of my eye, my vision. Not my packages. You should love my work. The next bride and groom may look at my images and say, I don’t get it. That’s ok. I don’t want to convert you. If you don’t like my pictures, keep looking. You’ll find someone whose work takes your breath away. That’s the photographer you should work with.
You should still dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s. You should do your research and comparison shopping. You should talk to each other. A lot. But at the end of the day, if the images don’t move you, don’t hire me.
One more time: why me?
Hire me because you love my stuff, and because I cry at all the weddings. Every one.
