About Aimee Lambes Photography
Last summer I took a 6000 mile road trip with my 10-year-old son. I was determined to get him to love the road...he hates the car for any length of time and he was distraught at the prospect of 2 weeks traveling. I decided to buy him a camera. I thought it might help him see the world how I do; not as something fluid but rather as a series of still images that fit together.
A lovely by-product of this drive was a number of philosophical conversations we had. One was a heated debate about the difference between a photograph and a snapshot. He steadfastly maintained the opinion that there was no difference. As a result I spent most of South Dakota trying to convince him otherwise. We finally agreed that a snapshot was important to the people in it; a photograph will move anyone who looks at it.
That is my goal. To take a photograph that moves anyone that looks at it. Whether or not you know the bride, or recognize the location, I want my work to to make the viewer feel something.
